Fun and friendly fitness for people aged 50+
Active 50 is The Sports Trust’s community initiative dedicated to people over 50.
Through a weekly timetable of low-impact sport and physical activity, Active 50 offers a range of free and low-cost sessions that are led by our friendly coaching and volunteer team. From football and pickleball, to walking groups and yoga, there is something for every ability and interest.

Our walk starts at 11am at various locations. Join the Active 50 facebook group to be advised where each walk will take place or you can email active50walking@gmail.com.
FREE TO ATTEND
This lower impact version of cricket is the same beautiful game, just played at a strolling pace. Suitable for the more experienced player who wants to enjoy the game at a slightly slower pace.
Pickleball for the improved players – not for new players.
Having developed the basic skills of the game, all players attending this session will be able to at least comfortably: hit the ball with forehand and backhand, serve and return service, maintain short rallies, with some doubles awareness.
Vikki’s pilates class focuses on flexibility and mobility exercises, an essential component in developing and maintaining general health and fitness for all ages, particularly as we get older. This session is suitable for any ability and can be booked on an individual basis.
If you still want to play football but at a slightly slower pace with people your age, this is the game for you.
Pickleball for the Community – new players welcome!
Learn how to play, the rules and basic skills of the game. Find out how to play this fast growing doubles in our friendly community
Try a range of low-impact exercises with Alex in our circuit class for over 50s. All exercises have a seated alternative and you can go at your own pace.
This session is based on Swasthya yoga, an ancient style of yoga. The class is limited to a maximum of 15 participants so pre-booking is essential.
Join us in the main hall for Zumba with Teresa. Suitable for any ability, this class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba Gold choreography, focusing on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweet and leave feeling empowered and strong!

Start the week positively with our Active 50 Keep Fit and Tone class! This is a fun exercise class to music and will get your heart going, tone your body and put a smile on your face. Delivered by the highly experienced Lorna.
